Crowns and bridges

Dental crowns and bridges in Cleveland

A crown is a fixed prosthetic device that is made in a laboratory and used by dentists to cover a damaged tooth. This improves the strength, appearance, shape and alignment of your teeth.

Bridges are also fixed prosthetic devices made in a laboratory. They are used to replace one or more missing teeth to fill in the gaps in your mouth. This prevents the remaining teeth from rotating or shifting into the empty spaces and resulting in a bad bite.

The discrepancy caused by missing teeth can also lead to gum disease and temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ).

The reasons we may recommend a crown or bridge is to:
  • Replace a large filling when there is not enough tooth remaining
  • Protect a weak tooth from fracturing
  • Cover a dental implant
  • Cover up a discoloured or poorly developed/shaped tooth or teeth
  • Protect a tooth that has been treated to root canal therapy
  • Prevent ‘drifting’ teeth
Please feel free to call our dental office in Cleveland with any questions about our services. We can do a check-up appointment to see if a crown or bridge is the right treatment for you. We even have appointment times on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, so you do not have to miss work. Come in soon! Our dentists would love to see your smile.
